The main objective of the Global Fund project is to raise awareness on malaria prevention and control emphasizing the correct and regular use of Long Lasting Impregnated Bed Nets and other preventive measures, among Rwandan families.

By implementing its activities, Urunana DC mainly focuses at production and integration of messages on malaria prevention and control into Urunana radio soap opera and umuhoza radio magazine,production of radio sketches/spots aired on different radio stations.

In order to reach the urban population with malaria prevention and control messages with the above mentioned funding, Urunana DC in partnership with Ministry of health produces and places TV drama series and TV spots on Rwanda television.

To enhance audience participation and obtain direct feedback on malaria situation, Urunana Dc organizes community outreaches in different parts of Rwanda. Skits are developed and urunana radio soap actors stage performances for public portraying message manged to capture the intended message and the best are awarded a prize (T-shirt/ a photo for Urunana actors). Medical personnel give clarification on issues that are not clear and audience members get the opportunity to address their concerns  and get  immediate feedback. Further more, in this important activity, that attracts massive people, the audience members get opportunity to express how Urunana impacted their lives.
