Producer and Presenter
Brigitte Mutanguha has been presenting and producing for nearly a decade. Prior to joining Urunana Mutanguha attained a B.A. degree in
literature at the National University of Rwanda and began working for Radio Rwanda as a news presenter for three years. She says radio is her main domain because she views it as an art.
At Urunana, Mutanguha has been the presenter and producer for Umhoza magazine. She currently edits, mixes, presents and produces all aspects of Urunana soap opera. She is proud to work for the NGO and enjoys sharing useful information with people that need it.
“Urunana is very popular because it entertains, but we are educating people about their welfare,” said Mutanguha. She believes that Urunana is good for the country because it develops Rwandans, touches the population’s reproductive health and changes their behaviour.
“I have taken ten years in marriage without a baby, people started coming to me trying to seduce me into sex that if I have sex with them I will have a baby, that my husband is the one with a problem. But following Bushombe and Kankwanzi’s story, I knew that any side can have problems ( Both man and woman). Now I am waiting to get money to go for medical check up” “What can I say about Urunana program?”
“Muhire and Mugeni story provoked me to go for VCT. After Mugeni went and found she was positive and she had stayed for a period of time not knowing her status, I decided also to go for a test to know HIV status and I was happy to find I was HIV negative”
